Father Jonathan Landon, who serves as a Chaplain (Major) in the United States Army, surprised his family and his church by returning from Kuwait earlier than expected.

On Sunday, May 16, Mrs. Landon surprised her children by announcing that it was time to go meet their father at the airport. The children didn’t expect their dad home for another two weeks or so.

The Landon family met Chaplain Landon at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta after his six-month tour and his 18 hour flight. The family then came immediately from the airport to services at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg where Bishop David Epps invited Father Landon to address the congregation. Father Landon then donned a stole and served Holy Eucharist to the congregation.

In addition to his duties in the U. S. Army, Landon serves as the Archdeacon of the Archdiocese of the Armed Forces under Archbishop Douglas S. Woodall. Chaplain Landon also serves on the Rector’s Council at Christ the King and his family is heavily involved in local church ministry.

The Landon’s make their home in Senoia, GA.
