Procession starts 11:50 Saturday for Lt. Berschinski

Fayette residents are urged to participate late Saturday morning in a motorcade procession to honor Peachtree City’s Lt. Daniel Berschinski.

Participants are encouarged to line the route displaying flags to honor a junior Army officer who lost both his legs in an August 2009 explosion while on patrol in Afghanistan with his unit.

The motorcycle procession will leave Fayette County High School at 11:50 a.m. on Tiger Trail. Then it will proceed around the courthouse square on Stonewall Avenue, Jeff Davis Drive and Lanier Avenue before taking Ga. Highway 54 to Peachtree City.

In Peachtree City the route will go south on Peachtree Parkway, then west on McIntosh Trail and Kelly Drive.

It will then go south on Ga. Highway 74, east on Crosstown Road and then northbound on Peachtree Parkway.

Then the route will take the procession back onto Hwy. 54 to the City Hall complex at Willowbend Road.
