0Residents in Peachtree City neighborhoods north of Ga. Highway 54 and on the east and west sides of Flat Creek Road and around Northlake Drive got a smoky surprise Sunday night. But units from the Peachtree City Fire Dept. and police officers cruising the streets could not find the source of the smoke.
The haze and smoke began well before 8 p.m. and by that time fire units were driving area neighborhoods trying to locate the source. That search as of 9 p.m. came up empty.
Fire personnel could only theorize that the source of the hazy smoke might have been from an outside fire, since Sunday was a burn day, that smoldered heavily as it was extinguished.
