Bypass: More roads will bring more growth

Bypasses: East, West, what’s next? I have always enjoyed a Sunday afternoon drive through the Fayette countryside, where one can poke along at a posted speed limit of 45 mph, no hurry, just enjoying the view of the countryside.

They write that bypasses are needed due to growth. A two-lane bypass will invite minimal growth, but growth is “waiting in the wing” for the opportunity of two more lanes being added.

Twenty years down the four-lane road, and bypasses will be needed to connect to those existing.

The body of a bottle containing the growth of several counties is made larger in size, but the neck more or less keeps its original size. It’s like a large bottle of bleach; Pour too fast, and it splashes all over the floor.

Get an early-morning start on a working day, drive through downtown Atlanta with the minimal, but still heavy, traffic, and you finally make it to I-85 North at 8:30 a.m. Look to your immediate left, and you are viewing this bleach bottle, turned upside down.
