Parents wanting to be up to speed on Internet safety and gang issues should put Tuesday, May 17 on their calendars.

That’s when the Peachtree City Police Department is offering such information in a community forum at J.C. Booth Middle School from 7-8:30 p.m.

The program is free and there is no limit to the number of people who can attend, police said. The event will take place in the school’s cafeteria.

Part of the program will be dedicated to helping the parents of middle school aged children learn how to recognize signs of gang activity, ways to identify potential gang involvement and how to report any problems quickly.

The other part of the program will help parents recognize how the Internet exposes inappropriate conduct, contact and content to their children. Police will offer ways parents can help protect their children while online.

The police department and Booth Middle School want to see as many parents attend the program as possible, officials said. Any questions about the seminar should be addressed to Capt. Rosanna Dove at [email protected] or at 770-632-4105.
