The idea of allowing packaged alcohol sales on Sundays in Senoia will be up to voters on Nov. 8. The Senoia City Council Aug. 15 adopted an ordinance paving the way for the referendum that could allow Sunday package sales of beer and wine.

The ordinance stipulates that, if approved by voters, Sunday sales between 12:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. could begin on Nov. 20.

The council in June addressed the potential for the Sunday sale of packaged alcohol, voting 3-1 to have a proposed ordinance drawn up for the council’s consideration in August.

The proposed ordinance was submitted by city attorney Drew Whalen.
