Sidewalks to nowhere in a city of cart paths

The forethought and design of Peachtree City and the 90 miles of paths intertwined within makes it an ideal place to live. Whether you’re walking, running, cycling or carting, the paths provide a means of fun, safety and access. It eliminates the danger and congestion of automobile traffic, crosswalks, and red lights. Wow! What a concept!

Sidewalks in Peachtree City, you have to be kidding! Have you seen them? They’re not even sidewalks. Just mere cement pads to identify crosswalks. What a joke, besides a waste of time and money that could be used elsewhere.

How about use the funds for schools, public services, cart path repair or anything else that would benefit the majority? The only person I’ve ever seen use the sidewalk is a man holding a sign that says “Buy Gold Here!”

Anyone living in Peachtree City realizes the benefits of the extensive paths, one of the few places in the United States that incorporates them. They provide accessibility of shopping, dining, schools, businesses, recreation, entertainment, friends and more.

In addition, who is behind the replacement of street lights and the poles they are attached too? I don’t recall any of them not in working order, much less falling down. Doesn’t steel last forever? It’s another example of fraud, waste and abuse to say the least.
