A benefit event will be held Saturday to assist a Fayette County firefighter who suffered severe burns while fighting a house fire in the Platinum Ridge subdivision Oct. 29.

The event, organized by friends of Brad Boemans, will include food, drinks, music, inflatables for children, corn hole competition and a bonfire. There is no charge but donations are encouraged.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at a location on Rowland Road just outside of Brooks in south Fayette County.

All proceeds will benefit Boemans and Gold Shield, a non-profit agency that helps firefighters and law enforcement who are injured or killed in the line of duty.
