Newly sworn-in Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb will be the guest speaker at the Fayette County Republican Party January First Saturday Breakfast.

Sheriff Babb is a fifth generation resident of Fayette County and a graduate of Fayette County High School. He spent over twenty years with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office attaining the rank of captain before losing the 2008 election for sheriff to Wayne Hannah. Babb left for a position with the Atlanta Police Department in 2009.

He defeated incumbent Sheriff Hannah by a margin of two to one in the Republican Primary Election in July 2012 and ran unopposed in the November General Election. When elected Babb said he would work hard to ensure our quality of life and would be an available hands-on leader.

The breakfast will be held on Jan. 5 at 9 a.m. at the IHOP, 705 N. Jeff Davis Dr., Fayetteville. No reservations are necessary and all interested Republicans are invited to attend.
