Michael Joseph Allessio, age 66, of Peachtree City, Ga. passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.

He was born to Michael and Stella Allessio on May 12, 1947 in Pittsfield, Ma. He attended the University of Massachusetts.  He married the former Carol Albano in 1969.  Michael retired from Home Depot in May of 2012.  He loved to play golf, ride his motorcycle, and to garden. He was a private pilot and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol Allessio; son, Christopher Michael Allessio; mother, Stella Allessio; and brothers, Robert Allessio and wife Colleen, and James Allessio and wife, Karen. He was preceded in death by his dad, Michael Joseph Allessio, Jr.; and a son, Chad Michael Allessio.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, Ga. at 11 a.m. with Father Pavol Brenkus officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 3 -6 p.m. at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home. Interment will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Chad Allessio Memorial Scholarship Fund at North Georgia College and State University.
