A 34-year-old Jonesboro woman was involved in a fatal traffic accident Aug. 15 in south Fayette County.

Sheriff Barry Babb said deputies at 6:40 a.m. responded to a fatal traffic collision on Goza Road between Hillsbridge Road and Flagstop Run. Stacy Boxley, of Jonesboro, was driving eastbound on Goza Road when she crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle.

The second vehicle was driven by 34-year-old Michelle Raposa, of Fayetteville, Babb said.

Babb said Boxley was entrapped in the vehicle at the scene. She was extracted by Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services units and transported to Piedmont Fayette Hospital where she passed away, Babb said.

Raposa was transported to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, said Babb.

Babb noted that all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have played a role in this collision, Babb added.
