Our Lady of Mercy split last week’s games. The Lady Bobcats defeated St. Francis 17-16 at home Aug. 26, and lost 15-0 to Pace Academy Aug. 29.

Starr’s Mill improved to 5-0 with a 3-1 win Aug. 27 over Union Grove. Alysen Febrey scattered seven hits to get the win and struck out seven. Natalie Orcutt scored on a wild pitch, and Ashley Powers singled home Sarah Flanders to give the Lady Panthers the lead in the third inning. Powers walked in the sixth and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ellie Ressi.

McIntosh defeated Whitewater 2-0 Aug. 27 as Hannah Newton struck out 12, including the last two Wildcat batters of the game with runners on second and third. Jordan Roy and Megan Eberle crossed the plate for the Lady Chiefs. The team downed Drew 16-0 in three innings Aug. 29 with pitcher Brittany Ostrander getting the shutout.

Whitewater rebounded from the McIntosh loss with two blowout wins. The Lady Wildcats defeated Johns Creek 15-1 in five innings Aug. 28, with Sarah Middleton the winning pitcher. Kylee Southers had three runs, three hits and three RBI, while Kimberly Perkins had two hits and four RBI. In a 19-0 win over Creekside in four innings Aug. 29, Maci Townsend threw no-hitter while Kylee Southers homered and drove in five, and Angela Heimback contributed three hits and three RBI.

Sandy Creek picked up a big comeback win Aug. 22 against Fayette County. Down 7-0 after three innings, the Lady Patriots scored six runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to win 8-7. In an Aug. 27 road game they fell 12-0 to Troup County in four innings.
