The Peachtree City International Festival and Rotary Dragon Boat races will celebrate its 6th year Sept. 28. The festivities will be held at Drake Field adjacent to Lake Peachtree, beside the Peachtree City Library and City Hall. Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome to attend.

The race has grown from a handful of teams and a few spectators to a signature Peachtree City event that will continue to grow year after year. This year, 42 teams will take to the lake with aspirations of earning awards and bragging rights. The boats seat 10 participants and a drummer that helps to keep paddlers in sync.
When the racers are not on the water, they and the fans lining the shore can explore culture, food, art and entertainment at the International Festival.

Over 35 artisans will be present with items such as jewelry, pottery, clothing, and accessories. As for food vendors, there will be cuisine from Asia, Jamaica, Greece, Italy, and America.
The festival will also include a variety of entertainment throughout the day on the main stage.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m., followed by performances from the Peachtree Wind Ensemble, Okinawan Dance Group, Taiko Drums, Mama Koku Stories from Around the World, a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance and Lion Dance, Piccadilly Puppets, My Reptile Guys, Belly Dance, and the Drake School of Irish Dance.

The Kids Korner includes arts and crafts, inflatables, face painting and a balloon artist.
