Qualifying for Coweta County’s May 20 primaries and the Nov. 4 general election is set for this week. Qualifying begins Monday, March 3, and runs through Friday, March 7.

The two seats up for election on the Coweta County Commission include the District 2 seat held by Tim Lassetter and the District 3 seat held by Bob Blackburn. Both commissioners said they will seek reelection.

The qualifying fee is $420. Candidates for the partisan commission races must qualify with their respective party. Democratic candidates may qualify at 8 Lee Street in Newnan while Republican candidates may qualify at 14 Greenville Street in Newnan.

The Coweta County Board of Education has four seats up for election. Those include the District 1 seat held by Amy Dees, the District 3 seat held by Harry Mullins, the District 4 seat held by Graylin Ward and the District 1 at-large seat held by Larry Robertson.

Coweta school board races require no qualifying fee and races are non-partisan. Candidates may qualify at the county elections office located at 22 East Broad Street in Newnan.

The primary races will be held May 20. The general election will be held Nov. 4.
