Lawrence D. Abbott, 75, of Peachtree City, Ga., passed away June 27, 2014.

He was a Power Plant Supervisor with Union Electric in St. Louis, Mo. and served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Abbott was a member of Fayette Senior Services and enjoyed shooting pool in “The Cave.”

He was preceded in death by his parents Elwood and Ona Abbott.

Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife Linda; sons Lawrence Abbott, Jr. and A.J. Abbott both of St. Charles, Mo.; stepson Gregory (Angela) Menniges, Jr. of Peachtree City, Ga.; brothers Donald (Martha) Abbott of O’Fallon, Mo., Elwood Abbott, Jr. (Marsha) of Centennial, Colo., Craig (Stephanie) Abbott of Parker, Colo. and Alan ( Karen) Abbott of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren Morgan and Natalie Menniges and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. Pastor Michael Stachura officiated. The family received friends Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
