A raid on a home in east Coweta County by local and federal law enforcement agents revealed approximately 350 marijuana plants being grown in what Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager described as a sophisticated growing operation.

The raid last week by local and federal law enforcement occurred at 72 Meadows Drive, off Ga. Highway 16 south of Senoia.

Yeager said Coweta deputies worked with federal Drug Enforcement Agency agents in the bust.

“The basement was full of pot being grown,” Yeager said. “We worked with federal agents and seized more than 350 plants.”

Maj. James Yarbrough said no one was at home when agents raided the house, but what agents found was the large number of plants with lights and water running off timers.

Coweta sheriff’s Investigator Victor McPhie said said no arrests have been made at this time, adding that agents were working off a tip and the investigation is ongoing.

Yarbrough said local and federal agencies are looking at other sites as potential grow house operations.
