Georgia Trend magazine has named Clayton State University President Dr. Thomas Hynes to its list of “100 Most Influential Georgians.”

The “2015 Georgia’s Power List” was presented in the magazine’s January issue and is, according to the magazine, a year-round process, beginning with an initial working list of far more than 100 distinguished Georgians.

The list includes leaders in government, education, business, healthcare, economic development, non-profit management and religion.

In addition to naming Gov. Nathan Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, and U.S. senators Johnny Isakson and David Perdue, the list includes numerous other elected officials from throughout the state.

Another interesting name on the list is person Clayton State’s Film and Digital Media Center has been working closely with to help further the state’s booming entertainment efforts; Lee Thomas, deputy commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office in the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Clayton State is a unit of University System of Georgia that offers five degree programs in Fayette County.
