Newnan native Chris Stephens was recently named president and CEO of the Coweta-Fayette EMC.
Stephens has been in the job on an interim status since October, but the Board of Directors recently made the situation permanent. “We have been very impressed by Chris’s dedication and technical knowledge over the years and look forward to watching the co-op grow under his skilled leadership,” said EMC Board Chairman Jim Fulton.
Stephens, formerly vice president of Engineering for the EMC, graduated from Newnan High School and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been with the cooperative for 18 years, beginning his career as supervisor of engineering. Chris and his wife, Lori, live in Coweta County with their two children, Cole and Kendall.
“I am excited to start this new phase at Coweta-Fayette,” Stephens said. “We have so much to be proud of here, with even greater accomplishments on the horizon.”
Coweta-Fayette EMC is a consumer-owned cooperative providing electricity and related services to over 76,000 member accounts in Coweta, Fayette, Heard, South Fulton, Clayton, Spalding, Troup and Meriwether Counties.
