An estimated two billion people across 192 nations are expected to participate in Earth Day 2015 and Fayette County residents are invited to join the fun with a festival in Tyrone on April 18.

Earth Day is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year and planners believe Earth Day 2015 will be the largest civic observance in the world, according to its website, www.earthday.org.

The Tyrone observance at Shamrock Park is a free event that runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Master Gardener Extension Volunteers will be on hand to talk about ways to “Love Mother Earth” and make environmental changes in the community.
