The Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting volleyball registrations for both elementary and middle school leagues until Aug. 21.

The volleyball leagues are for girls from 8 years old to eighth grade, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis until the leagues are full. Spaces are limited, and some divisions may fill up before the deadline.

Player fees start at $40 and include a team shirt. There will be a $5 late fee for any registrations accepted after the registration period ends if any spots are still open at that time.

Players will be placed in different divisions based on their age or grade level (Bronze for ages 8-10, Silver for grades 5-6, Gold for grades 7-8).

The Recreation Department is also seeking adult and teen volunteers to assist as team coaches, assistant coaches, line judges, and peer mentors (teens in middle or high school). Additional information is available by calling 770-716-4320, visiting www.fayettecountyga.gov/parks_and_recreation, or registering in person at 980 Redwine Road in Fayetteville weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The youth volleyball program is offered in the spring and fall of each year. The spring volleyball season is for girls in grades 5-12.
