Flooding closes roads

Update: Dec. 31: Canterbury Lane is now open. Problems that forced the closure of a portion of Quarters Road and Graves Road near Ga. Highway 92 North have been resolved and those roadways are now open.

Original story: Due to recent flooding in Fayette County a number of roads have been impacted and are closed to all traffic. Motorists are asked not to move barricades.

Here are some of the affected roads that have been closed:

Canterbury Lane (residents can access their homes from 210 Hilo Road).

Rising Star Road near Brooks Woolsey Road.

McBride Road between Mask and Old Greenville.

Morgan Road.

Quarters Road.

Hwy. 92 North near Graves Road.

County officials said work is underway to repair these roads in a timely manner.
