RaceTrac fuel center, other retailers to follow this summer

Work is moving ahead quickly on The Overlook retail development on Ga. Highway 54 West in Peachtree City. Chick-fil-A is expected to open in mid-April followed by the RaceTrac Neighborhood Center and numerous retail stores this summer.

The Chick-fil-A restaurant will total 4,927 sq. ft. with 132 indoor seats and 31 seats outside and is expected to open in mid-April, according to city Senior Planner David Rast.

Rast said RaceTrac will total 5,928 sq. ft., will be outfitted with 20 pumps and is expected to open in the summer. Both RaceTrac and Chick-fil-A are situated along Hwy. 54 West.

Also opening in the summer and accessed by Line Creek Drive will be The Overlook retail area. Situated in two buildings totaling 98,000 sq. ft., The Overlook will be home to T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods as the anchor tenants. Smaller storefronts will house a Michaels arts and crafts, a Versona women’s clothing, rue21 clothing, an Ulta cosmetics and fragrance salon and several additional businesses.

Also occurring in the immediate area, construction activities are complete for the “continuous green T” intersection at Line Creek Drive which will serve as the entrance for The Overlook.

The signalized intersection, expected to be activated in early to mid-April, will allow westbound traffic to flow through continuously without stopping. To accomplish this, traffic on the north side of the intersection will be restricted to a right-in, right-out while traffic turning left out of The Overlook shopping center to go west on Hwy. 54 will queue into a separate merge lane in the median.
