Dr. Joseph C. Barrow, Jr., superintendent of Fayette County Schools, turned over greenhouse keys to Kim Toal, Fayette County UGA Extension Agent.

The repurposed greenhouse is located near the Sams Auditorium at the site of the old Fayette County High School. The greenhouse will be used by Fayette County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers for educational purposes.

The first project will be to grow milkweed plants which will be distributed to Fayette County homeowners, with a goal of creating a monarch butterfly trail through our county. The greenhouse will also be used for 4H projects and the popular Cloverbud Day Camp, a summer youth program focusing on food production from farm to plate.

For more information about the greenhouse or other educational opportunities, contact the Fayette County Extension Office at 770-305-5412.
