To honor those who work to provide Fayette’s students with a world-class education, the Fayette County School System will recognize its educators during National Teacher Appreciation Week. The Fayette County Board of Education adopted a proclamation at its regular business meeting April 18 proclaiming the week of May 2-6 as Teacher Appreciation Week in Fayette County.

Individual schools will honor their teachers throughout the week with planned activities and expressions of appreciation. Community members are encouraged to take a moment during the week to contact a teacher and share their gratitude for the special educators in their lives.

“Teachers mold future citizens through guidance and education. The nation’s future depends on a quality education for all students; and therefore, on great teachers,” according to a statement. “Please remember to thank a teacher this week.”
