The artwork of Janet Burns will be featured in the Entry Gallery at the Coweta County Administration building, 22 East Washington Street in Newnan, starting June 1.

Burns has been creating as long as she can remember.  She graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, with a degree in art focusing on ceramics.

Since her retirement from the Coweta County Board of Education, she’s put most of her creative energy into drawing. She belongs to several social media art groups including Sktchy and Julia Kay’s Portrait Party.

As an artist, her preferences are faces that show a moment in time and are part of a story, engaging the viewer to wonder and imagine the emotions of the subject.
