Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone welcomed a new pastor to its pulpit on Sunday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Jenny Anderson formally joined the Hopewell family.

Anderson grew up in Jackson, where she attended Jackson United Methodist Church and graduated from Jackson High School.

She is a graduate of LaGrange College with a degree in religion and philosophy. As a student, she worked summers at Camp Glisson, a Methodist camp in the North Georgia Mountains, and at her home church where she assisted with programming for children and youth.

Anderson holds a master of divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She was ordained an elder in the North Georgia Conference in 2011.

Anderson has served as associate pastor at Kennesaw UMC, pastor of Cumberland UMC, and co-pastor of Covenant UMC.

She and her husband, Nick, met at LaGrange College, and they have a daughter named Alexandra. They say they enjoy being outdoors, spending time with friends, cooking, traveling, and cheering on the UGA bulldogs.

The Andersons say they are excited to join the Hopewell family and look forward to many years of service in the Tyrone community.

Hopewell is located at 351 Jenkins Road, directly across from Sandy Creek High.
