Olympian speaks to Girl Scouts

Olympic gold medalist and Girl Scout leader Mary Plant kicked off the opening ceremony of The Loblolly Games at Girl Scout Camp Loblolly last week.

Mary shared her Olympic experience with the campers along with one of her Olympic gold medals and the torch she carried in the torch relay for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Nearly 150 local Girl Scouts attended this Summer Olympics-themed day camp and participated in canoeing, archery, laser tag, crafts, lacrosse, and many other Olympic-inspired activities.
