A Norcross man arrested in 2015 and in custody for child molestation and sexual battery has been charged with four more counts of child molestation involving additional juvenile males while he attended a Fayette County church.

Matthew B. Young, 47, of 1022 Williamsburg Court, Norcross, was arrested Sept. 18, 2015 on one count of child molestation and was later charged with a second count of child molestation and one count of sexual battery.

Young on June 27, who remains in the Fayette County Jail, was charged with four more counts of child molestation, according to jail records.

The old and new charges involving Young and six juvenile male victims stem from when Young helped with church youth at the Berachah Bible Church on Corinth Road, said Sheriff Barry Babb.

The initial charges pertaining to two juvenile males came after a father contacted the sheriff’s office, said Babb.

Babb said the the incidents occurred both at the church and outside the church.

All the victims attended the church, Babb added.

Babb said additional charges are pending in other jurisdictions where church camp was held out of state.
