The Coweta County Genealogical Society will be hosting its quarterly meeting Saturday, Sept. 17, at 1:30 p.m. at the library, 8 Carmichael Street, behind the Newnan campus of the University of West Georgia.
Ted O. Brooke, a well-known, respected, and very knowledgeable genealogist, will be the speaker. Brooke has provided the family history community with immeasurable information through his many books on Georgia.
His latest book, COWETA COUNTY, GEORGIA NEWSPAPER MARRIAGE & DEATH NOTICES 1835-1887, has information on Coweta County and surrounding counties that is extremely difficult to find, according to a spokesperson.
The public is invited to attend the meeting.
