Fayette County High School Class of 2013 band alumni JP Davis, left, and Cooper Haywood reconnected in Starkville prior to the South Carolina Gamecock vs Mississippi State Bulldogs football game this past weekend.

Davis plays saxophone and Haywood plays trombone and both were members of Dr. Myra Rhoden’s Marching Tiger Band at Fayette County High School from 2009 – 2013. Both young men are now the drum majors for their respective university marching bands.

Daivs, who still calls Fayetteville home, and Cooper, whose family has moved to Brandon, Miss., will graduate in the spring of 2017 with degrees in music education. Both will pursue postgraduate music degrees with an emphasis in conducting for Haywood and either conducting or Music Education for Davis.

The Bulldogs won the football game 27-14.
