Patrick Allan Hicks, 76, passed away on October 5, 2016, at home in Fayetteville, Ga.

He was born on June 23, 1940, inLima, Ohio to Harle and Eunice (Hunt) Hicks. Patrick grew up in Continental, Ohio. He served his country during the Vietnam era in both the Navy and Air Force. He retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years of service. He then started and ran his own home repair business for over 20 years. In addition to serving his community and Christ’s Church, Patrick served as an elder at previous churches he attended.

Patrick married Wanda Kennemore in 1966 in East Point, Ga. They were happily married for 50 years.

Patrick is survived by his spouse, Wanda of Fayetteville, Ga.; his son, Allan Hicks and wife, Suzan of Nashville, Tenn.; and his daughter, Cindy Hicks Sellers and her children Lydia, Jonah and Joshua of Fayetteville, Ga.; his sister, Harlene Steiner of Smithville, Ohio; his brother, Terry Hicks of Greenville, S.C.; and his brother, Brian Hicks of San Antonio, Texas.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Harle and Eunice Hicks, and his brother, Mike Hicks.

Visitation will be held at Christ’s Church at Whitewater on October 15, 2016, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow from 11 a.m. – 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Legion Post 105 Boys/Girls State at P.O. Box 441, Fayetteville, Ga. 30215.
