Royal Family Kid’s Camp is a camp and mentoring program for children in the social service system. It is part of a nationwide system of camps and clubs, each working with the local social service system to provide a week of summer camp and year around mentoring to foster children.

“We provide love and positive memories to children ages 6 to 12 who have been abused, abandoned or neglected,” according to a spokesperson. “Last summer 78 foster children attended our camp.”

Next summer’s camp is scheduled for June 5-9, 2017.

There will be an auction Saturday, Oct. 22, at noon at the Lovejoy Family Church of the Nazarene, 1683 McDonough Road (next to Lovejoy High School), to raise money for the 2017 camp.  Many Atlanta area merchants have donated gift certificates for the auction. There will also be gift certificates from attractions and motels nationwide.

The auction is also open online now through Oct. 19 at the “Bidding for Good” website.
