Mrs. Dorothy J. Lowrance, age 91, of Fayetteville, passed away November 14, 2016, at Piedmont-Fayette Hospital.

Mrs. Lowarence was born on December 12, 1924, in Jackson, Miss., daughter of the late Housan and Elizabeth Duncan. She retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. She was a charter member of Legacy Christian Church and loved her prayer group “the golden crew.” She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters and son in law, Gayle and Mike Lee of Marietta, Jackie Williams of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Lauren Quinnell of Fayettevile and Michelle Melton of Baltimore, Md.; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; sister, Frances Briggs of Memphis, Tenn.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
