Mr. Kenneth M. Smith age 85 of Fayetteville passed away November 9, 2017.

Mr. Smith was a former member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He recently became a member at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. He was a published author, loved world history and served on the Advisory Committee for both the Salvation Army and Clayton County DFACS, and he volunteered with the children visiting their parents at DFACS. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Lake Spivey Golf Club for many years and was on the Senior Golf Group where he had 2 holes in one.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife: Faye Smith; children: Col. Richard Smith Ret. (Leslie) of Syracuse, N.Y. and Robin Fowler (Michael) of Fayetteville; sister: Marge Abernethy of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren: Julie Smith, Tony Smith (Elva), Jeff Smith, Hannah Smith, Lauren Fowler, Kaleigh Fowler; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church.
