James Donald McKinney. April 6, 1939-January 8, 2018.  

James Donald McKinney, 78, of Peachtree City, Ga. died Monday, January 8, 2018 at home.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.   James was born April 6, 1939 in Dothan, Ala., son of the late Dan McKinney and the late Geraldine Trawick McKinney.   He moved to Columbus at an early age and attended Jordan Vocational High School.  James began his career at WTVM and spent most of his life working at Columbus Productions.

Survivors include his wife, Faye McKinney of Peachtree City, Ga.; son, James Donald McKinney, Jr. (Kelly) of Peachtree City, Ga.; daughter, Allison McKinney Wilkins (Allen) of Chattahoochee Hills, Ga.; grandchildren, Mack Wilkins,  Brian McKinney,  Sullivan Wilkins, Bryston Hebert, and Morgan Hebert; a brother, Jesse McKinney (Brenda), and several nieces and nephews.
