Got some junk to get rid of? This weekend will present the perfect opportunity as Peachtree City hosts the Annual Spring Clean-up at the mulching center and Meade Field parking lot on May 5 and 6 on Rockaway Road.

Also starting this week is the annual burn ban that began May 1 and runs through Sept. 30.

The annual Peachtree City Spring Clean-up is slated for Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.. at the Mulching Center and Meade Fields Parking Lot (Rockaway Road). Peachtree City residents can drop off unwanted appliances, furniture and other junk that the Recycling Center does not normally accept. No tires, batteries or household garbage accepted. Those with questions can call Public Works at 770-487-5183.

Also, the state-mandated burn ban begins Tuesday, May 1, and is in effect through Sunday, Sept. 30. Recreational fires and fires used for outdoor cooking are allowed and do not require a permit.
