Kathryn Ann “Kathy” Szegedy, 71, of Fayetteville, passed away on August 24, 2018. Kathy was born on August 16, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Frederick and Catherine Pferdehirt.

She married Louis Szegedy in Pennsylvania. After getting married, they moved to Michigan where she worked at the University of Michigan. After moving to Georgia, she worked as an administrative assistant at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. Kathy owned her own craft business making jewelry, knitting, and crocheting. Kathy was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Donley and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Louis; daughters, Michelle (Darrell) Altrichter and Meredith (Jeffrey) Kula; and grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Jordan Kula.

A funeral mass was held Monday, August 27, 2018 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Fayetteville with Father Richard Vu officiating. The family received friends Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Kathy’s memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
