Gary Greene, 80, of Fayetteville passed away December 23, 2018. Gary was born on June 17, 1938 in Albemarle, N.C. to the late Spergeon and Jewel Greene.

Gary was a Delta pilot for 32 years. He was an avid, lifelong coin collector and a longtime Fayette County youth baseball and soccer coach.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Johnsie Farrell and Susan Greene.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Greene; sons, Bob (Susan) Greene, Chuck (Ashley) Greene, and Bill Greene; grandchildren, Maggie, Tripp, Jack, Anna Grace and Stella; and brother, Johnny (Sue) Greene.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Rod Entrekin officiating. The family will  receive friends from 1- 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to Pruitt Health Hospice or your favorite charity in Gary’s memory.
