Burn marks found on child —

A Fayetteville woman is in custody facing felony charges for cruelty to children after burn marks were found on her young child.

Kaylin M. Frazier, 24, was charged with first-degree (felony) cruelty to children, according to Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett.

Burdett said Frazier had previously taken the young child to the home of a relative, where that relative later noticed that the child was uncomfortable and appeared to have burn marks on the body. The relative subsequently took the child to a doctor’s office.

The child is currently receiving treatment, Burdett added.

Burdett said police were contacted on Aug. 5 and went to the home to speak with Frazier, but found she was not at home, said Burdett.

The investigation resulted in sufficient evidence to have Frazier arrested, said Burdett, adding that Frazier was located and taken into custody on Aug. 7.
