A Henry County man has been arrested by Peachtree City police in connection with an assault that occurred on Aug. 31.

William H. Martin, 47, was charged with aggravated assault and first-degree criminal damage, according to Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Matt Myers.

Myers said the Henry County resident had been involved in an ongoing dispute with a pool service contractor.

Then on Aug. 31, an unrelated person contacted the pool service contractor about work needed in Peachtree City, Myers said.

While at the site in Peachtree City, Martin arrived at the scene and struck the contractor with a baseball bat, causing minor injuries, said Myers, adding that Martin also struck the contractor’s vehicle with the bat.

Myers said Martin then got in his vehicle and left the area.

Martin was later arrested on another charge in Coweta County and transported to the Fayette County Jail.
