The heartfelt holiday musical, Sanders Family Christmas is the sequel to the bluegrass hit, Smoke on the Mountain! Sanders Family Christmas opens November 22 and runs through December 22 at The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone.

It’s December 24, 1941, and America is going to war. So is Dennis Sanders, of the Sanders Family Singers. Join Pastor Mervin Oglethorpe and the rest of the Sanders Family as they send Dennis off with hilarious and touching stories and twenty-five Southern Gospel Christmas favorites. Sanders Family Christmas is written by Alan Bailey, Gary Fagin, John Foley, and Connie Ray.

This production is directed by Mark Smith.

“Sanders Family Christmas is a great holiday show for everyone. The cast is full of talented actor/musicians. I think the best part is seeing these characters play all the music live as well as act and sing.” says Smith. “We’ve produced Smoke on the Mountain and Sanders Family Christmas before, and they’ve both been audience favorites. So, we decided it was time to bring back the Sanders family for Christmas!”

The show is Music Directed by Jodi Cotton.

Sanders Family Christmas features many actors returning to Legacy including Evan McLean (Complete Works of Shakespeare, Matilda), Daniel Black (Million Dollar Quartet), Daniel Burns (Million Dollar Quartet, Ring of Fire), Drew Anderson (Bridges of Madison County), Samantha Hayes (Pinkalicious) and Nancy Riggs (Bridges of Madison County, Footloose). Making their Legacy debuts are Alyssa Flowers and Adam Weisheit.

The Legacy’s fourteenth season continues with Mamma Mia, Almost Heaven: Songs of John Denver, and The Wizard of Oz. Season subscriptions for all 4 shows are available for $120 and individual tickets are on sale now. Sanders Family Christmas runs November 22 through December 22 with performances Fridays & Saturdays at 8 pm and Saturdays & Sundays at 3 pm. Adult tickets are $30-$40, Senior & Student discounts are available as well as discounts for groups.
