A 17-year-old Peachtree City resident has been charged with misdemeanor sexual battery in a Feb. 1 incident after he grabbed a female jogger’s buttocks on a Peachtree City cart path.

Christopher A. Todd was charged with misdemeanor sexual battery and theft by taking, according to Fayette County Jail records.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt said a woman who had been jogging on a cart path told officers she saw a male loitering in the area. She said the male subsequently came up behind her and grabbed her buttocks.

The woman reported yelling at the male, at which point he cursed at her and ran off, Hyatt said.

The jogger gave officers a description of the male and Todd was later identified and charged, Hyatt said.

Pertaining to the theft by taking charge in a separate incident, Hyatt said Todd found a bicycle on a cart path, took it and later discarded it.
