The Ga. Highway 74 South and Crosstown Drive area will be getting another hotel. The conceptual site plan for the 4-story Home2 Suites by Hilton was approved June 8 by the Peachtree City Planning Commission.

The hotel will be situated on 2.46 acres on Widget Drive, a private street essentially forming an arc near the northwest side of the intersection of Hwy. 74 South and Crosstown Drive.

As proposed, the 4-story hotel will have 107 suites and 112 parking spaces, and will be located nearer to Hwy. 74 South. Access to the hotel will be from Crosstown Drive and Hwy. 74 South.

The property was previously zoned LUC (limited use commercial), for which a hotel is a permitted use.

Construction is expected to begin in 2020, with a 2021 opening.

The conceptual site plan was approved on a 4-0 vote.

City planning staff recommended approval, saying that the plan met the requirements of city ordinances.
