The City of Fayetteville will host another paper-shredding event on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon (or until the truck is full, whichever comes first).

The City’s April 17 Shred & Recycle Day event was so well-attended that the mobile shredding vehicle on-site filled up well before the noon closing time, and many people were turned away. The May 1 event will only feature paper shredding.

Event guidelines have been adjusted to help accommodate more people. Only paper will be accepted, no binders, binder clips, nor metal clasps, and no trash of any kind. Participants are advised to inspect their paper before bringing it to the event. There will be a limit of 10 bankers boxes full of paper or two large garbage bags full of paper. Excess amounts will be turned away without exception.

This event is for Fayetteville and Fayette County residents.

For more information, please call the City Clerk’s Office at 770-719-4159.
