May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and students at Spring Hill Elementary are doing a deep dive into learning.

While social distancing and Milestone testing have kept them from holding any in-person events, posters, books, and lessons encourage exploring other cultures and their histories.

A key feature sees 2nd grade ESOL students researching famous Asian Americans, recording their research on a graphic organizer, and then creating a poster to display their information.

Their project is designed to teach students to use reputable websites to gather and record information, read and comprehend non-fiction text, present information using pictures and words, and identify and record important information about a famous Asian American.
