Sandy Creek and Fayette County High have a fierce feud on the court, but when the old foes meet on Friday, December 9, 2022 they will be teaming up for a purpose. Hosted by the Patriots, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Awareness Night will see donations collected throughout the night in support of Myles Rice, a 2021 SCHS grad, in his fight against cancer.

Rice played his senior year at Sandy Creek High, helping lead the Patriots to a state runner-up finish. This September he announced he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and his basketball career would be on hold indefinitely while he fights. Rice was entering his second year as part of the men’s basketball team at Washington State University.

The action starts with a freshman game at 4 p.m., with the varsity girls game at 6:30 p.m. and the varsity boys game tipping off at 8 p.m.

Fans are asked to wear purple to show their support for Myles in his fight.
