A new face is joining the Eagles nest. Emily Nealis is the new principal at Inman Elementary.

Nealis is thrilled to help the young Eagles learn to fly.

“With Inman Elementary not being located within one of Fayette County’s larger cities, the school is able to serve as a community center for its families. This provides incredible opportunities for parent and stakeholder engagement,” said Nealis. “My family also lives in nearby Brooks, so I am honored to be able to serve the area in which we are raising our children.”

Nealis has been an assistant principal at Braelinn Elementary since 2018. Prior to that, she was a teacher of different grade levels and specialties at Cleveland Elementary from 2005-2018.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from LaGrange College and her Master of Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. She earned her Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University and her Tier 1 Leadership Certification from the University of West Georgia.

Nealis began her journey in education with Volusia County Schools as a kindergarten teacher for one year before she joined Fayette County Public Schools.

She was confirmed as Inman Elementary’s new principal at the March 13 Board of Education meeting. She succeeds Tabitha Walker, who is departing for another school system.

“I want to continue to make Inman a great place to learn and grow through staff collaboration, parent engagement, and student empowerment,” said Nealis. “I am excited to bring my love for children into all facets of Inman Elementary!”
