Peachtree City to Host Town Hall Meeting on HB581 and What It Means for Homeowner Property Taxes

The City of Peachtree City invites residents to a special Town Hall meeting to discuss updates to homeowner property tax exemption and sales tax options, including the implications of HB581, a new floating homestead exemption. The event will occur on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the Frances Meaders Council Chambers at City Hall (151 Willowbend Road). 

“We are committed to ensuring our community is well-informed about these significant changes. This meeting will clarify and allow us to address our residents’ concerns,” stated City Manager Justin Strickland.

According to Peachtree City’s communications team, this informative session educates and engages residents about the changes and their impact on homeowners. Key topics to be covered include:

  • Changes to homeowner property tax exemptions, highlighting the new floating homestead exemption under HB581.
  • Updates to the sales tax structure, featuring a new tax for property tax relief.
