Flat Rock, Booth win at region middle school math contest

Local schools dominated the competition at the 2025 Griffin RESA Regional Middle School Math Contest.

Flat Rock Middle won Division II for medium schools.

It was a sweep in Division III for larger schools, with JC Booth in 1st place, Rising Starr in 2nd, and Whitewater Middle in 3rd.

Local students also swept the individual awards. Yide Dong of JC Booth won 1st place with Valentina Ramirez of Rising Starr in 2nd and Ian Maeder of JC Booth in 3rd.

The Griffin RESA Middle School Math Contest is a regional competition among middle schools in the Griffin RESA region which consists of the following school systems: Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike, Spalding, and Upson. Over 20 middle schools and 100 students participated.
