Peachtree City, GA – Exciting transformations are underway at one of Peachtree City’s original shopping centers. Willowbend Shopping Center is being revitalized and rebranded as The Willow District.
Established in 1996 by the late Lamar Seals, the center has always been a community-focused space. To honor his vision, comprehensive renovations began in early February, with completion anticipated by late summer. These updates aim to modernize the center while preserving its cherished character.
The renovations encompass exterior upgrades, enhanced landscaping, and updated signage, all designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. The project has already attracted significant interest from businesses eager to join The Willow District. The goal is to curate a tenant mix that complements existing establishments while introducing fresh options that add value to Peachtree City. Leasing for the project is being handled by Emily Winkle with Pace Lynch Corporation.
“This renovation is about more than updating buildings—it’s about building community,” said Annie Swords Spencer, granddaughter of Lamar Seals. “We’re excited to reimagine this space in a way that reflects Peachtree City’s character, while carrying forward my grandfather’s legacy of long-term, local investment.”
The rebranding to The Willow District reflects a vision beyond that of a traditional shopping center. The aim is to establish a destination—a vibrant district within Peachtree City—where people are drawn not just to shop but to gather, socialize, and enjoy a variety of experiences.
Maintaining a community-focused approach, the redevelopment seeks to enhance the local experience by supporting existing local businesses and attracting new ones that elevate and complement the community’s character.
Embracing Peachtree City’s unique golf cart-friendly lifestyle, The Willow District will feature designated golf cart parking and is conveniently located near Lake Peachtree. This encourages visitors to utilize the city’s extensive cart paths to bike, walk, or drive their golf carts to the district, enhancing accessibility and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.
Construction is being managed by H. Builtwell Development Group, a Georgia-based firm known for its hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.
A grand opening is planned for late summer or early fall to celebrate the completed transformation. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project comes to life!
